–Honestly, memories make better presents than anything material.
–The only person who can set expectations for you- is you.
–People are gifts- so surround yourself with people worth being around
–People are gifts- which means the smallest act of kindness from you can make a big difference.
–Price tags don’t make perfect gifts- sincerity and genuine thought about the person does.
–Keep this in front of you: “but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.” Luke 2:10
–Most likely the big IT (whatever “it” is) for the holiday season, won’t seem as big in 3 months.
–Stop- once this week, turn off your phone, and spend 5 minutes not thinking about what’s next.
–Family is important, so spend time with them.
–Family doesn’t set schedule; so do what you can and be happy with what time you have.
I’m convinced the reason Christmas gets so stressful is because we convince ourselves that things have to be perfect. We think back to when we were kids and the lights, the tree, the presents, were all magical and perfect. The truth is, they were probably just as stressful for the adults then. The reason we enjoyed it was because we were kids. So this Christmas give yourself permission to be a kid. Nothing has to be perfect. Just be present and don’t miss out on the perfect Christmas because you were too caught up in the wrapping of logistics or expectation.
